JUDY ABUEL

Judy was originally from the Philippines and immigrated to the US in 2015. She attended City College of San Francisco where she earned her AA degree in Science & Mathematics. Judy transferred to SF State in 2020 during the pandemic and earned her bachelors in Cell & Molecular Biology in 2022. When she's not in the lab, Judy can be found traveling, hiking, and spending time with family.

CHRISTOPHER RAMIREZ
2nd Year Master Student
Hola, I'm Chris! I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Cell and Molecular Biology within the Riggs Lab. I graduated BS in Cell and Molecualr Biology with a minor in Latinx Studies and Chemistry and strive to enhance my skill set in both fields. I do this by working closely with the SFSU community and its surroundings. In my undergrad, I worked within these communities with groups/student organizations like Global Brigades and the student veteran organization on campus (V.E.T.S.@ SFSU). With 23 years of experience as a soldier in the United States Army (Active and Reserve), this guides my research interests. He will graduate from SFSU in the Spring of 2024 and plans to apply nation wide for medical school. Aside from these pursuits, I'm an avid skydiver, hockey player, and amateur competitive latin ballroom dancer.
LAURA GALVAN

Laura is from Hollister, CA. She attend community college at Gavilan College, where she earned her associate’s degree in Biology. Laura then transferred to SF State in 2021, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Cell & Molecular Biology in 2023. When she’s not in the lab, Laura can be found sailing, backpacking, fishing, and traveling.

STEPHANIE UZORDINMA AWUZIE

Uzor first began in the Riggs Lab in Fall 2022 as a VIR Biotechnology SEO Scholar and later that year earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology from SF State. She went on to pursue a Masters degree under the Cell and Molecular Biology Program as a Bristol Myers Squibb Research Fellow. Uzor’s loves crafting in her free time, her favorite activities include crocheting and sewing!
